Darn. It happened again - another under-the-radar SEO secret has been detected and flushed out into the open by an internet marketer.

The secret has been hittail, which I have been using since early 2007 and getting more traffic to this affiliate software review blog as a result.

I've just finished reviewing Jason's new "LongTail Secrets" ebook. At first I was quite skeptical about his product, as you can read all about the long tail in Chris Anderson's book so what else could Jason write about?

He goes into some detail on the long tail theory so yes there's some overlap with Chris's groundbreaking book, but Jason quickly takes you further into applied techniques - i.e. how long tail concepts can help your online business.

The best part is the huge section on new web 2.0 sites that tie in to the long tail methods, and also a step by step process to apply longtail keywords to your search strategy - for merchants and affiliates.

As for HitTail, Jason does a good job to hit the main points but he doesn't skimp on information - he covers HitTail in over 5 pages and even the founder of HitTail, Mike Levin, is referred to. I bet Mike is curious now... :)

It's been a challenge for the HitTail team to explain what HitTail is all about ... and what it's not.

But I was impressed by how Jason explained it so well as part of the advanced section entitled the "HedgeHog Concept". The HitTail team might want to take a few pages from Jason's ebook :)

Also included in the package is a QuickStart guide and extra tools such as process maps and a keyword spreadsheet template.
