An article I read recently on WebProNews argues that live chat can increase your conversions significantly.

There are many types of live chat packages for merchants, and most of them charge a monthly fee.

But one developer of affiliate software and other ecommerce applications, Quality Unit (makers of Post Affiliate Pro), has just launched an ajax-supported live chat application called LiveAgent.

One of the cool features of LiveAgent is that you can see where someone is "calling" from and what page they are on, so if you are selling multiple products you can immediately get in the right frame of mind to help them the best.

Another cost-saving feature is that this is software you install yourself on your server, so you don't need to pay any monthly fees.
