Rather than take up your time with more videos of CMSI, instead I'll give you a different take on the situation and hope it helps you in your decision.

Look, I'm an affiliate for CMS Infusion so I just wanted to disclose that to you. With that said, I think this is a fair and honest review.
The bottom line here is that you are considering a CMS = Content Management System - not some trival decision.

If you are looking for a blog or an affiliate/membership script, then go get one.

But if you are looking for something to run a business from, then CMS Infusion *might* be for you.

Why do I say "might"?

Because there's currently 761 CMS's available to you on the internet, and some are free.

So you need to decide if you need a CMS, and then you need to decide if CMSI fits your needs the best, at the price they are asking.

Now also remember that CMSI is being marketed to marketers by marketers. So the sales copy is on the "pitchy" side (no American idol pun intended).

I can't tell you if you need a CMS.

But I can tell you the process you should go through to make your decision:

  1. Figure out if you need a CMS
  2. If yes, then consider the main CMS feature categories and what your requirements are
  3. Search for a CMS that meets your needs
  4. Compare it with CMSI and decide

For 1, you probably need a CMS if you are planning to launch a content rich business with members/subscriptions. CMS's are good at helping you manage content and keeping track of the memberships.

For 2, the main categories are:

  • System Requirements
  • Ease of Use
  • Performance
  • Security
  • Management
  • Support
  • Interoperability
  • Flexibility
  • Built-in Applications
  • Commerce

The way CMSI is being sold is they focus on the last 2 main categories. So this tells me it's for CMS newbies, and it almost appears as if these guys are selling to people who never discovered CMS's before. It does look good for this type of group - marketers who just want to get selling asap.

For 3, the best thing I can suggest is you use CMS Matrix to compare and search for the CMS that meets your needs.

I added CMSI, from the little I could determine from the pre-launch review I had, to CMS Matrix here. So you can compare CMS Infusion against all 761 CMS's if you like :)

NB I did add CMS Infusion to Affiliate-Software-Review - you can check the features here, although I'm not 100% on all the affiliate features yet.

Some key things that CMSI is missing are:

  • built in blog
  • forum
  • work flow management
So even though it's being sold as "all in one" you still may need to go out and get other packages to add to your site. That's the risk you take with an all-in-one product.

I think CMSI is great for newbie opportunity seekers who want to get their membership site up fast and don't care about all the details.

Over time they may find that they need to consider things like versioning, work flow, and other key CMS functions. But if the CMSI guys listen to their customers then they will add these over time.

So if CMSI is what you want and the bonus stampede they are offering is the best fit, then go for it. Note that the shopping cart module will cost you extra though, if you're not the first 500 customers, and it's not ready yet. So you might be spending on additional functionality...If you're going to get it, get it via my link here and I'll toss in these bonuses for you

If you want to carefully consider your options then you are better off waiting, and doing your homework before you decide on a platform to base your next business on.

Cheers,

Peter
